Job Title: IT Operations - Network Operations Technician Intern (NFWS) 

 

Position Summary/Purpose: 

This position is to support the efforts and responsibilities of the Network Operations Team. 

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions: 

  • Perform Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for a variety of systems and applications in a 24x7 Network Operations Center. 

  • Analyze, triage and troubleshoot alarms received by internal and external monitoring and trending systems.? 

  • Proactively monitor operating systems, databases, web servers and network devices. 

  • Ensure escalations are handled in a professional, consistent, and relentless manner. 

  • Manage incidents from beginning through final resolution, including customer notification. 

  • Handle server-based hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and replacement. 

  • Apply Microsoft Operating System Security patches 

  • Perform physical inventory and organization of datacenter equipment 

Qualifications:  

  • Experience in messaging systems (Exchange 2013, Exchange) 

  • Familiar with trouble ticket system (ServiceDesk). 

  • Must be able to adapt to new technologies and processes. 

  • High level of attention to detail. 

  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient with ability to work under minimal supervision. 

  • A willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to provide support and maintenance for systems, and to ensure 24/7 support and troubleshooting. 

 

Experience/Education:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor???s program or Master’s program. 

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. 

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University. 

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

  • Work Environment: Office building on site. Work performed is primarily inside, and occasionally outside depending on events, subject to variations in temperature and weather, equipment noise and dust. 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage 

Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2025
