Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of this position is to assist GCU Day by acting as a GCU Ambassador to prospective students.

 

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Serve as GCU Ambassador to prospective students
  • Ability to support and promote GCU’s Doctrinal Statement
  • Execute weekly event operations
  • Present on trained information to groups of guests
  • Ability to provide positive and safe experience for guests
  • Ensure inventory is adequate per event
  • Ensure rooms are adequately cleaned and prepared for events
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm a must
  • Additional Tasks as assigned

 

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Department cell phones and computers for communicating via phone, text, email, and chat applications
  • Microsoft Suite applications for tracking data

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience with youth preferably in a camp environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outgoing and comfortable speaking in front of various groups
  • Campus living and extracurricular activities within GCU strongly preferred to be able to provide first-hand experience to visitors
  • Open weekend availability is a must
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week

 

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

  • Work Environment: Outside at multiple sites throughout the GCU campus. Work performed is a blend of inside and outside, subject to variations in temperature, weather, and event program needs.

 

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

Expected End Date: June 30, 2024
