Student Worker - GCE Marketing - Digital Content Assistant (NFWS)
Job Description
This is a remote position, but you must live within 30 miles of the GCU campus.
Purpose Summary/Purpose:
Join GCE’s digital marketing team to help present dynamic content for our nursing education partners and gain valuable experience. As a student worker, you will help lay out blogs and perform other related tasks for various microsites to drive leads and support the efforts of the digital content team. This role offers valuable experience in content marketing, project management and web publishing best practices, allowing you to refine your skills in a professional setting.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
- Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating blog pages in WordPress
- Utilize our content management system (CMS) to post content on various microsites
- Project management: perform and manage blog publishing process
- Select and prepare images
- Perform research
- Attend weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor
- Additional duties as assigned
Equipment/Programs Used and Responsibility:
- Laptop
- Internet with high speed/strong bandwidth
- Content management system (CMS)/ WordPress - for 20 microsites
- Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- Workamajig and ClickUp (project management programs)
- Getty/Canto Images
Qualifications:
- Experience updating website content in a CMS
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with graphic design a plus
- Experience writing content a plus
- Experience with project management software a plus
- Students pursuing an education in web development/design, graphic design, marketing, communications, or computer science.
- Must be able to work in a high-paced work environment and complete tasks and deadlines on-time and accurately
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Possess a working knowledge of English grammar and spelling
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills
- Must live within 30 miles of GCU’s Phoenix campus.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a bachelor’s-level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master’s-level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the university.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay rate: Minimum Wage
Expected End Date: June 30, 2026
