Student Accounting Specialist
Job Description
Position Summary/Purpose:
This role is responsible for the timely processing of student stipend/refund checks by thoroughly auditing and maintaining the student’s account in conjunction with adhering to Title IV Funding regulations.
Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
1. Analyze and adjust student accounts.
2. Process student stipend/refund checks.
3. Assist with processes to ensure compliance with Title IV issues and maintain best practices in accounts receivable.
4. Meet defined department goals and all established activity metrics.
5. Ensure timely communication and follow up with student services divisions regarding student accounts.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used and Responsibility
- MS Office Suite
- Database software and/or advanced usage of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Experience/ Education
- High school diploma required. Associate degree preferred.
- 6 months - 2 years’ related experience preferably in Financial Aid, financial or accounting department and/or training in the principles and practices of accounting and Title IV funding regulations.
- Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
