Network Administrator
Job Description
Grand Canyon Education is seeking a Network Administrator to support the IT Operations department. The Network Administrator provide server infrastructure and endpoint operations teams with network support for day to day operations and special projects.
Responsibilities:
Aid in new deployment projects.
Provide day to day maintenance and administration activities for network devices.
Provide server infrastructure and endpoint operations teams with network support for day to day operations and special projects.
Support two or more datacenter locations’ ongoing operations.
Documentation of cabling, monitoring and various applications and support policies.
Expected to interact with and become familiar with various network monitoring applications/appliances such as Spectrum, ActiveXperts, Cacti, and Sensatronics environmental monitors.
Works with the manager to maintain a high level of customer service and continual improvement.
Will often be required to work off hours to mitigate impact to end users and be "on call", available for emergency situations.
Provide end user support for network related issues.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret incoming alert notifications.
Mathematical Skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Industry certifications from Microsoft and Cisco are recommended.
Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
Must have experience with a Cisco network environment.
Must have experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Experience in Linux environments a plus.
