Marketing - Student Host (NFWS)
Job Description
Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a Student Host to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCE's Marketing department.
Purpose Within the Organization:
This position for a Student Host is to help drive Grand Canyon University’s Original Programming including, but not limited to, #AskGCU, The GCU Lope Show, and others on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and various video platforms. The purpose of the shows in Original Programming is to give viewers a real look at student life at Grand Canyon University. Our goal is to captivate an audience of prospective students and their families to show them an inside look of the university, answer their questions, and help drive enrollment.
Student Hosts should be comfortable in front of the camera, able to conduct interviews, and chase a story. Student Hosts may also be an extra in other video content, record voice overs, and help out behind the scenes on set.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
Ability to attend weekly film shoots.
Conduct research and prepare questions for interviews.
Work with producers and crew to film Original Programming.
Maintain an active public social media presence in line with GCU’s mission.
Uphold the reputation of GCU.
Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used and Responsibility:
Occasionally handling film equipment (microphones, cameras, tripods, etc.) from a supportive role
Qualifications:
In order to be qualified for this position, Student Hosts must adhere to the following requirements:
Follow student worker policies as laid out in the student worker handbooks.
Adhere to GCU rules and regulations.
Have strong communication skills..
Be willing to try new things.
Be comfortable with being on camera as well as being a face of GCU.
Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon Education is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
