Job Title: Marketing - Student Content Publisher (NFWS)
Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of this position is to assist the SEO team in the Digital Marketing Department with managing and updating content on our website, ensuring layout and copy revisions are implemented according to specifications. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and accuracy of our website and ensuring that all content updates are published smoothly and correctly.
Responsibilities also include creating and submitting combined PDFs for review, generating website schema, pushing content and layout updates live, creating annotations in our SEO platform, and ensuring newly published changes are submitted to Google for indexing.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:
Edit and update website content using the provided copy and instructions, then submit for approval before publishing.
Find images to enhance published pages
Design page layouts for optimal desktop and mobile experiences
Improve overall content presentation for existing pages
Use schema generators to create structured data markup and implement it onto site.
Monitor the site for any post-deployment issues and address them promptly.
Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding progress, challenges, and approval statuses.
Organize and prioritize tasks, set deadlines, and ensure timely completion of projects.
Assisting full-time SEO team members with administrative and reporting tasks
Special projects as assigned
Equipment Used and Responsibility:
- MacBook Pro (provided by IT) - Password-protected device to be guarded whenever not in use for the position
- Microsoft Office Suite - Various tools for communication and project tracking
- SiteImprove - Web-based tool for website health and copy searches
- Workamajig - Project management system and project time tracking
- WorkDay - HR tool and official time clock
- Drupal and/or WordPress - Website CMS for making updates on webpages
Qualifications:
Current GCU students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in marketing, business, communications, web design and/or similar concentrations
Basic HTML, CMS, and web design knowledge a strong plus
General understanding of UX/UI best practices
Knowledge of CMS, predominantly Drupal
An eye for web aesthetics and design best practices
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to balance content updates with visual appeal and user experience
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Eagerness to work, learn and be flexible
Experience/Education Eligibility:
Grand Canyon Education is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or master’s program
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a bachelor-level student or a 3.0 GPA as a master-level student
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum eligibility requirements.
