Job Description

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is a rapidly growing educational service company that has long been an industry leader in providing educational, operational, and technological support services to the post-secondary education sector. Formerly part of Grand Canyon University (GCU), GCE still works closely with GCU to benefit thousands of students, families, and the local inner-city community. We put people first, drive innovation, and do good in the community that we live and work in.

At our company, we are committed to driving innovation and excellence in the educational services sector, much like our inspiration drawn from Grand Canyon Education's collaboration with Grand Canyon University. We prioritize people, champion innovation, and actively contribute to the communities we're part of.

Are you an expert in managing employee leave programs and workplace accommodations with a strong grasp of federal, state, and local compliance requirements? We’re looking for a Leaves & Accommodations Administrator who can manage the end-to-end leave and accommodation process, ensure accuracy in documentation, and provide clear, timely guidance to employees, managers, and HR partners. If you're highly organized, knowledgeable in employment regulations, and experienced with HR systems like Workday, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the full-cycle administration of employee leave of absence and accommodation cases, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws (FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and more).
  • Be the go-to expert for employees and managers-responding to questions, guiding them through the process, and keeping everyone informed every step of the way.
  • Keep everyone in the loop! You’ll be the point of contact for employees, managers, and HR partners-sharing updates, answering questions, and making sure the leave and accommodation process runs smoothly from start to finish.
  • Lead interactive accommodation discussions, assess risks, and recommend thoughtful, compliant solutions that balance employee needs with business priorities.
  • Keep records accurate and up-to-date in Workday and support trend analysis with data and reports.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions and create helpful resources to build awareness and understanding around leave and accommodation processes.
  • Stay current on legal and policy update to keep our practices sharp and compliant.
  • Collaborate with our amazing HR Service Center by backing up general HR support, as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leave and accommodation administration, including experience with FMLA, ADA, disability, and state/local leave laws.
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting a mid-to-large, multi-state organization.
  • Strong experience conducting workplace accommodation interactive processes and maintaining detailed case records.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HRIS data entry and management experience; Workday preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and work independently.
  • Clear and professional communication skills with all levels of employees and leadership.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. leave and accommodation laws and compliance standards.

Why Work at GCE:

  • Exceptional workplace benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401K savings plan
  • Generous time off plan and 11 paid holidays
  • Paid time off to volunteer in the community or at GCU sponsored events
  • Free covered parking
  • We also offer full-time employees, their spouses, and dependent children an Education Tuition Discount Program
