K12ED - Thundervision Student Worker (NFWS)

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of the Thundervision position is to assist the K12 Educational Development department’s Operations team with weekly middle school in-person and virtual college and career readiness GCU-based logistics and presentations as well as any additional tasks related to the department’s K-8 events and programs.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Represent GCU and K12ED professionally and positively.

  • Organize and assemble materials and supplies for events and/or programs.

  • Assist in planning and preparation of logistics pertaining to events and/or programs.

  • Assist with virtual and on-campus weekly field trips for 6th-8th grade students.

  • Assist with any other administrative needs that arise as assigned.

Qualifications:

8 hours per week available. Must be available Mondays from 8:45AM-3:00PM for GCU-based field trip experiences. Additional hours to meet time can be flexible.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Willingness to work, learn, and be flexible.

  • Dependable and punctual.

  • Team player: collaboration is critical.

  • Comfortable presenting in front of middle school groups.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

  • Work Environment: Office building on main campus as well as lecture hall in Building 22 and outdoors on North Patio. Subject to variations in temperature, weather, equipment noise, dust, etc.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
