Job Description

Position Summary/Purpose: Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a/an K12 STEM Services Student Worker to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCE's K12 Educational Development department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attending and assisting with STEM and STEAM-focused events on campus and occasionally off-campus at select West Valley schools

  • Content creation for events, including

    • Preparing graphics and assisting with reposting social media for K12 Development

    • Creating lessons for K12 students incorporating design or STEM subjects

    • Attending events on campus with STEM tools such as Snap Circuits, mini-robots, Cipher wheels (training is provided)

  • Data entry and/or wrap-up summaries

  • Creating, organizing, and editing flyers used for department or college initiatives

  • Appropriate use of camera equipment, including lenses, tripods, microphones, and interviewing hardware and software, YouTube Channel content creation

  • Attending outreach events and representing the K12 Development department at events as needed

Equipment used and responsibility:

  • Laptop computer - Macintosh w/ iMovie and video editing software, Monday.com, and Canva.com

  • Camera equipment, including lenses, tripods, microphones, and interviewing hardware and software

  • STEM kits provided by K12 Development as needed for the event

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work quickly under the pressure of deadlines.

  • Ability to work with subjects, create content, and showcase the subject matter.

  • Comfort working in a professional environment and interacting with adults and K-12 students.

  • Access to a personal vehicle preferred

Grand Canyon Education is committed to a student-first policy.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor’s program or Master’s program.

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

Expected End Date: June 30, 2025
