Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a HR Support Specialist to support the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Onboarding teams at Grand Canyon University.

Purpose within the Organization:
The HR Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and auditing employee records using Workday. This position supports the efficient onboarding of new employees and ensures the accuracy and integrity of HR data.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Actively supports the HRIS team by updating, auditing, and maintaining precise employee records in Workday.
  • Facilitates the onboarding process, including document verification, data entry, and initial employee guidance.
  • Maintains a meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of record-keeping and data management to prevent and correct discrepancies.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects to enhance HR systems and processes.
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of all HR-related information.
  • Assists in special projects as assigned, which may include cross-departmental support and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and team collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a structured environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to effectively multitask and maintain focus while managing detailed information.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, particularly Workday, and MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High level of integrity and professionalism with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in HR, Business, or Information Systems is preferred.

Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
