Under general supervision, the Digital Paid Media Specialist supports the Grand Canyon Education Marketing Department, and associated business partners for the purpose of turning prospective leads into students through oversight and handing of lead generation campaigns.


  • Supports the GCE Marketing Department’s lead generation campaigns by working with 3rd party media vendors. These 3rd party media vendors will manage Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other ad buys. Direct experience in these platforms is encouraged.

  • Responsible for the media strategy, execution, and analysis for GCU’s paid media campaigns.

  • Works with assigned vendors to manage vendor communications regarding issue resolution, and how to leverage campaign growth and development. Forms of communication include written, video conference, and in-person.

  • Learns key principles of vendor handling, such as appropriate criterion which meets marketing’s needs, how to bring vendor onboard and how to build highly collaborative relationship with vendor; vendors are assigned for sole handling based upon performance.

  • Collaborates with compliance services to ensure partner’s branding, copy, and other creative specifications remain current; escalates issues to management and participate in resolution of issues.

  • Provides initial analysis of current and historical campaign data and/or user behavior and collaborates with other team members to provide recommendations to optimize lead campaigns for internal and external partners. 

  • Comprises raw report data for lead numbers, conversion data, trends, lead status reports, budgeted leads, and lead projections of assigned campaigns; collaborates with other team members on creating final report data presentations

  • Learns about third-party services, such as lead capture system and compliance tools and begins to utilize to improve lead generation strategies for assigned lead campaigns.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for assigned clients; escalates complex issues to other team members; resolves issues if within scope of authority and growth of understanding about lead campaigns.

  • Attends assigned client meetings to gain understanding of needs and campaign initiatives; takes the lead in developing project plan; reviews project plans with marketing management; executes some elements of project plan as assigned.

  • Learns how to review traffic performance of channels which includes utilization of testing and attribution tools; provides analysis to management and provides final report of information to management or client.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of digital media placement processes among multiple media channels such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other ad buys.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project or similar project management software and social media platforms.

  • Good interpersonal skills to develop relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Good oral and written communications, a good command of the English language and ability to provide clear communications among all stakeholders.

  • An ability to work collaboratively as a team player and integrate with a diverse team with varying opinions and ideas.

  • Knowledge in accounting, finance and marketing concepts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and cope professionally with changing priorities.

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, business management or related field required from a regionally accredited institution.

  • 1-2 years of experience in digital performance marketing preferred.

  • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
