GCE designs and develops educational programs for GCU and other traditional campus institutions, as well as online partner institutions at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.

Join us at Grand Canyon Education in the Office of Field Experience division! We are looking for a motivated Associate Director who will be accountable for assisting director and other senior department management in formulating policy and processes into departmental management practices to support the strategic and operational goals of the organization and the department. This is a hybrid position, and individual must reside within or near Maricopa County, AZ.

New hire training will encompass three full weeks of training. One week will be held in-person at our Phoenix, AZ campus and the following two weeks will be held virtually via Zoom.

As an Associate Director, a typical week might include the following :

  • Assist with developing strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organizational performance goals within agreed budgets and timescales.

  • Assist with operational execution of initiatives to support departmental performance goals.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development

  • Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales

  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff

  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets

  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements

  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance.

  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and other regulatory compliance guidelines.

The role might be right for you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

  • A minimum  of 3 years’ relevant leadership/management experience.

  • Ability to develop positive professional relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and action oriented.

  • Proficient with standard office programs and systems.

  • Must be able to pass background investigations.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
